Charity
Trayport is actively involved in our local community and other causes. We focus on issues where we can make a difference. None of this would be possible without the generous donation of our employee’s time and skills.
WHO DO WE SUPPORT?
Lucy Brown House
Lucy Brown House is a sheltered accommodation for people of the older generations in the Southwark area. Trayport holds a number of events over the year and the feedback from the residents has been they really enjoy the interaction with our employees and gives them something to look forward to. As a result of our involvement, Trayport now sits on the board of Lucy Brown House which means we are able to help increase the quality of the resident lives and help to give them the sense of being more part of the local community.
Southwark Tigers
The Southwark Tigers Rugby Club aims to advance the education of children and young people and to provide valuable activity to young people in an area of significant deprivation. The club operates as a charity and is run through the support of local parents. Southwark Tigers receives no regular funding from Southwark Council or the RFU and their funding comes entirely from sponsors. All the adults helping the club are volunteers.
STEP: Southwark Theatres' Education Partnership
STEP is a borough-wide partnership linking the theatre community and education sector in the London Borough of Southwark. STEP aims to equalise, extend and deepen the theatre and drama experience of all young people living in Southwark and to encourage young people to achieve their full potential through the creative force of theatre and performing arts activities. They work closely with Southwark schools, youth and community groups and theatres and performing arts organisations to develop creative approaches to learning and provide innovative projects which stimulate children and young people's personal development and contribute to their educational attainment.
We are also committed to encouraging and supporting the charitable activities of our employees, many of whom devote their time and resources to helping good causes.
Tweed at Speed
On 23 July 2011, 3 of Trayport’s employees embarked on the Mongol Rally - a 6 week, 10,000 mile journey from Chichester, UK to Ulaanbataar, Mongolia to raise money for the Christina Noble Children’s Foundation (http://www.cncf.org). Trayport was very proud to sponsor the ‘Tweed at Speed’ entry. If you’d like to find out more about the cause and how they progressed, click here
