Making an Impact in our Community

Here at Trayport, we believe that we must be a business that not only supports our people, our clients, and energy trading markets, but one that also gives back to the communities that surround us.

That’s why each year we invite our people to make an impact and see what difference they can make within our local communities and for causes that matter to them. Each of our employees has two days each year to give their time to a cause they care about.

This November, we organised volunteering days for our staff to get stuck into helping a worthy cause. For employees in London there was an opportunity to lend a helping hand to Little Village, a London-based charity that collects donations of pre-loved items to pass them onto families that need them. A team of 30 visited to the Little Village warehouse in Hounslow to sort through their winter clothes so they were ready to give to families as the weather gets colder.

Cordelia, who attended the Little Village Impact Day said, Volunteering at Little Village, an incredible charity supporting families with young children below the poverty line, was an immensely rewarding experience. I really enjoyed the opportunity to contribute to the significant impact this charity has on over 7000 children a year, from assembling essentials to keeping kids warm throughout the winter, to creating small Christmas present packages. This was a truly meaningful use of an impact day and I wholeheartedly encourage others to get involved or donate to support this cause.”

In Vienna, the team came together in support of Samariter Suppentopf, an initiative that provides warm and high-quality meals to those in poverty who can barely afford essentials. It is called “Suppentopf” as it signifies that from the simplest ingredients and by making the most of everything, we can create the most creative, sustainable, and varied main dishes. Teams were allocated to the Samariter Suppentopf social markets across the city to set up the market and serve food to those that need them.

Stefan who attended the social market at Pillergasse, said this about the experience ”We had quite a busy day: discarding expired fresh food, keeping the store restocked and the items in the shelves aligned throughout the day, moving goods between storages, accepting deliveries, helping customers, and cleaning up. Thank you Trayport for supporting this cause.”

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing teams that took part in these Impact Days.
